FromCollegetoPros.com Prediction – January 1st, 2013

Only a freshman, he is already a man among boys. After watching him play against North Carolina, which happens to be the 3rd best rebounding team in the nation, there is no doubt that Anthony Bennett is a physical specimen of a different kind.  He has length, superior strength, and a motor.  He is also very skilled.  His shooting stroke is very good for a big man and I expect this to develop well as he matures.  As good as he is now, it is scary to think that he is still raw and what he might become.

Anthony Bennett’s game projects well in the modern NBA game as a power forward. He is a bit undersized as 6’8 as a power forward in the pros but he has the length to compensate for the lack of height.

I do have concerns on his ability to stay healthy in the long-term.  He had a nagging hamstring injury in High School.  This should not happen when you are in high school.  His physical ability as a 6’8 power forward weighing 240 pounds makes him very special.  Unfortunately, I fear that weight will take a toll on his health long-term.

Collegtopros.com expect Anthony Bennett to be drafted between the 3rd to the 8th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. He should be drafted ahead of James McAdoo of North Carolina. He projects as a above average starting power forward in the NBA when in the line-up.  He likely is one of those guys that have a problem staying healthy however.
