Kendall Marshall Future NBA Point Guard Ranking

July 8, 2012

The objective of the list below is to show my prediction of where Kendall Marshall will belong 3 years from now among the top NBA point guards. The list makes the following assumptions for the purposes of showing his level and ranking.

  • Steve Nash and Tony Parker are playing at the level of how they were playing in 2011-2012 season
  • Derrick Rose and Ricky Rubio recover to full strength from their ACL injuries

Additional information about my rankings:

  • The top four point guards are very close to each other and a case can be made for each to be the best point guard.
  • I prefer passing point guards over scoring point guards because passing point guards makes everyone else around him better.  The numbers might not be able to quantify the true value of a passing point guard.  This is the reason why I am high on Kendall Marshall.

Top Point Guards in 3 years (See my assumptions above)

1) Chris Paul
2) Rajon Rondo
3) Derrick Rose
4) Deron Williams
5) Steve Nash
6) Tony Parker
7) Kyrie Irving
8) Russell Westbrook
9) Ty Lawson
10) John Wall
11) Ricky Rubio
12) Kendall Marshall
13) Stephen Curry
14) Brandon Jennings
